Managed a visit as I was going to be in Coleford later in the day.

Not quite as easy as when I was there last - then it was dry & warm. After almost 2 weeks of continuous downpours, the trail's muddy, slippery, very difficult, and hard going.

I've lost count of the number of times I came off - made worse by not being able to unclip from the pedals (I really need to adjust the spd's!). It's very disconcerting to have your back wheel swiped sideways by a root into a mud bath whilst struggling uphill

At one point, there's a really deep dip in the trail - now filled with water. I didn't realise quite how deep it was 'till my front wheel stopped dead at the bottom of it. At this point, the back wheel followed the laws of physics & overtook the front!.

Still enjoyable, & my bruised wrists & arms will recover eventually.

The pedalabikeaway centre was packed - 1/2 term hols, obviously - though there was no-one else on the singletrail.
